Metalphoto Plates for Identification Use in the Army the Navy and the Air Force

A summary of the military specifications met by Metalphoto plates, the photosensitive aluminum plates for use where clear lasting identification is required.

1. Purpose. This bulletin provides information on the acceptance of Metalphoto in military applications.

2. Scope. Metalphoto photosensitive anodized aluminum plates and foil have been tested by many government agencies as well as independent testing laboratories. This testing has proved Metalphoto meets or exceeds the requirements for the following military specifications.
2.1 MIL-P-514-D (Docks) Para. 3.2.5 Composition C. Composition C shall be photosensitive aluminum in accordance with GG-P-455.
2.2 MIL-P-15024-D Type H. Type H plates shall be aluminum alloy with a totally anodized surface. Characters shall be integrated into the anodized layer by a photographic process using silver compounds.
2.3 MIL-M-13231A (Sig C) Amendment 2,Table 2, marking processes group 1, photographically printed on sensitized aluminum as furnished by the Metalphoto Corporation and processed as recommended by the manufacturer of the material.
2.4 L-P-6906-B Identification plates made from Metalphoto exceed all the requirements for test procedures in paragraph 4.6.
2.5 L-N-18307-E (Navy) Para. 3.9.8 refers to MIL-I-15024 Type H. Metalphoto meets Type H requirements.
2.6 L196334A Amendment 3, Type 1 and Type 2. Parts produced from Metalphoto with the proper adhesive affixed exceed the performance requirements as listed in paragraph 3.4.
2.7 A2B Identification plates for National Security Agency.

3. GG-P-455B Federal Specification Plates and Foils (Photographic Photosensitive Anodized Aluminum) Type 1. Impregnated with silver compounds (Grade A).
